Rarity of a Yellow Carpet

I personally have never seen a true yellow Haddoni (( Carpet )), and the few that I have seen were actually bleached ones. So I would be a little suspect of any, and would want to see a picture of the actual anemone first.

This is not yellow by any means, but is the closest I have ever come to seeing one. Its colors shifts a bit depending on how wide open it is or not, and what color temp bulb it is under. Plus, I used a flash for this picture.

... any anemone that is yellow is either bleached or dyed. ....
I am not sure about this. My healthy anemone here is definitely yellow, but it is not a carpet. I have not seen a healthy yellow carpet yet, not that I seen a huge number of carpet anemones. Most of the yellow carpet i saw wad S. gigantea and not healthy.

i forgot to mention an anemone can live healthy after being dyed. The reason i say to avoid them is to stop the demand for yellow anemones and therefore end coral dying.

but i do assure you, your anemone is dyed

i HIGHLY doubt that anemone is dyed.......i haven't seen any anemones live after being dyed. and it's an H. magnifica so there hard to get and keep healthy and if it was dyed it wouldn't have lived.

I got this anemone for a year now. It was somewhat bleached at first, but it certainly not dyed. It is a healthy H. magnifica now
Here is a picture after the first month or so

I have seen the Yellow S.Gigantea befor but never a true Yellow Carpet Anemone. When a Carpet Anemone looks Yellow most of the time its a very lime green color and very bright!

MY lfs has 2 yellow/ flesh tone carpet anemone's this week. They are marked as carpet anemone, but im pretty sure it was Stichodactyas helianthus. I have owned haddoni and it was definetly not haddoni. I guess it coulda been a Gig.

Is this the Anemone?

I guess i didnt look at the picture closely enough, i thought OrionN's nem was either a LTA or BTA. I'll admit i was wrong.

thats a beautiful anemone btw

please everyone realize the reason i said it was dyed was because i glanced at the picture and thought it was either a LTA or BTA(orionN's pic). i claim no advanced knowledge in any type of carpet anemone. sorry for any emotional damage i have cause you haha.

There are yellow Carpet. Those that I saw are S. gigantea and are not healthy. I have never seen a yellow S. haddoni.

I just bought a yellow/green haddoni from Liveaquaria ($199). It is a greenish yellow, but mostly yellow. I don't think it is bleached, but only time will tell whether it makes it and whether it stays the same bright yellow/green color.

trying another anemone randy, is this the first after the red one?
Good luck I hope it settles in for you.

The old myth that there are no healthy yellow anemones needs to be put to rest. It is true that most of the yellow giganteas are bleached and become green as they color up. However, I had a yellow haddoni for over 6 years before I traded it in. The tips were yellow and the base of the tentacles were brown which gave it a bit of a golden mustard look. I also had a merten's carpet that was yellow. The tentacles of H. magnifica are quite often yellow.
I would post a couple pics but I can't figure out how to access the gallery. Were the galleries lost when they changed the board?

To your original question, yellow giganteas are usually quite inexpensive, in the $35-$50 range usually. Haddonis in general are a little more expensive given the same color and size.
