RBTA bubbled back up in 3 hours under Halides

SPS Killer
I had this guy for about 5 months now.

Came to me bubbled up. Had it under a Sol Blue that was ran near max. It turned into a LTA. Had it over a Radion G1 briefly, no difference.

Switched over to a Maxspect Razor ran near max, became slightly less LTA-ish.

Switched over to 2x 250w MH + T5, in 3 hours it's bubbling back up very nicely.

Purely anecdotal experience but just wanted to share my experience.

Wow! That's beautiful.

I'm not sure what the key to "bubbling"or not but mine (at least 9 of them in my RSM130D) bubble and then unbubble off and on. I must admit the degree of "bubblism" yours are showing is stunning. Also the colors really pop.

Like yours, both of mine (RBTA and GBTA) came to me bubbled, loss it's bubbles over short period of time running Maxspect Razor. Makes me wonder if its LEDs that cause them to not bubble.......

Not a sure thing by any means, but I've found low to medium flow coupled with bright light usually produces nicely bubbled anemones.

Very nice, I just got mine rbta about a week but I don't see any bubbles. Maybe because of the T5?

IMO, a not bubbled nem is an uncomfortable one. If you notice on the second picture, the tentacles which are still in LTA mode are in the shaded not well lit areas and the tentacles in the fully lit areas are well bubbled.

IMO, when a BTA is in LTA mode, it's either not receiving the right spectrum or enough light and those tentacles are probing for more. It makes sense if you think about designing an anemone which relies on light. The longer tentacles are reaching, probing for more light.

In the first picture Ive been told if it looks like that its reaching for light, but that's strange since you have the ai sol at almost 100%.

i have 3 that are bubbled under leds. this whole led vs halide things is soooo stupid and ignorant at this point. people need to drop it

When I was using normal output fluorescents (4-5 bulbs per tank) all of my BTAs bubbled. The only time I saw BTAs without bubbles were in tanks with Metal Halides. There was a hypothesis that the bulbs allowed for more surface area for photosynthesis, but it seems for every hypothesis there is just as much evidence to the contrary as there is to support it.

I've heard that wellfed BTAs are more likely to bubble. We'll see when I get mine, as I'm planning on feeding but it will be under LEDs.
