This is a Ritteri going to ______ in the tank.

I have not seen my BTA do it yet.

I have been keeping track and its doing it every night as soon as the actinic lights come on...it does it for a couple of hours and then comes back to normal.

I fed it today after 5 days and it ate happily.

I just get scared when it shrivels up...the mouth is closed so I don't see any signs of it being under stress.

Mine does the same thing; every day an hour or two before lights off, it retracts completely into its foot. After 2-3 hours it will puff back up to the clowns' delight.

They don't have 'feet'.

Correct they have a foot

No, no they do not. They have a pedal disc.

I should probably jump in since I first said "foot". While technically correct that the anemone has a pedal disk instead of a true foot, "foot" is a common term for the pedal disk and the inaccuracy is generally overlooked; just as I had originally overlooked the incorrect grammar of your statement in which you had typed 'feet' instead of "feet".

Wrong. 'feet' is acceptable when used after a plural such as 'they.'

A lot of inaccuracies get overlooked, but that doesn't make it right.

Actually, I was referring to your incorrect use of quotation marks; they should be " " not ' '. And by the way; the "ped" in "pedal disk" is latin for "foot" (as animals that walk on two feet are bipeds, while animals that walk on four feet are quadrupeds).
