So I have a 220 gallon tank and have had this RBTA for about 2 or 3 months now with no know issues until the last week or two. I used to always feed the anemone raw shrimp or ground up shrimp with some garlic and fish food every few days and it always ate it before with no issues. For the entire time I've had it, it's always had it's mouth open for an extended period of time during the day. Not sure if it was due to the orientation of the anemone on the rock which might have caused it to be more stretched but until recently it's always eaten and expelled it's waste on a regular basis and been fine. Whenever I fed it, it would grab the food with it's tentacles and eat the food.
Over the last week or two though, it's refused to eat. I tried buying some silverslides for it and it won't grab the food and just lets it fall out. The mouth is open even wider than usual it seems, but not sure if that's just me being more worried. It now closes up and expels it's waste on a daily basis. The anemone also doesn't seem to inflate up as much as it used to when I first bought it. I've checked my water params and it's 0 nitrate. 0 ammonia, and 0 or 0.25 Phosphates(test kit just aren't sensitive enough). The Alk is around 9 and Calcium is 410. I've also moved a powerhead to blow on it more and give it some better water movement recently. This was after the above issue and not before so it shouldn't be the cause. The anemone still attaches to it's rock and doesn't want to blow away.
The waste is brownish and stringy but it looks normal to the waste color from before when it wasn't acting up.
I really would appreciate any advice that anybody has on what the issue might be. I really like the sucker and would hate to see it die. Or am I just being overly concerned?
