My RBTA is being beaten up by mt Maroon Clown It is now curled up in a crevice and totally deflated. and it looked like it had throne up a nasty looking brown stringy slime was coming from its mouth I put a frag rack in front of it to keep the clown away I've only had the RBTA for a month and it was doing well until now. Can someone tell me if this is a normal cycle or do I have a problem The RBTA was eating well I've been giving it shrimp every other day

Its been 1/2 hour since I put the frag rack over it and it is beginning to inflate and its looking stronger. I'll look at it again in the AM and hopefully it will recover. My Maroon is a nasty one I may have to look for a new home for her.

Every other day sounds like too often to eat, but that's not the proximate cause--the clown is. Keep it protected for a bit, make sure it gets plenty of light (will be shaded by the crate), gentle flow always seems to help keep th clean and happy.

Pics help too :)

My tomato clown was being a little rougher than my BTA cared for, but it's gotten used to it by now and is opening up more fully.

Not sure if that's going to be the case here, but it may be worth seeing if this problem will take care of it's self.

7 AM and the RBTA was OK looking normal I removed the frag rack and the clown jumped right in and went to sleep my lights don't come on till 2 this afternoon i'll keep my eye on her and if she continues to be a bully I will look for a new home for her this clown was my first fish I got her at MACNA Pittsburgh but she has been a trouble maker ever since I got the RBTA do they have a narcotic effect on clowns?
