RBTA is not doing well

My RBTA was purchased about 5 months ago, about two months ago it split and since then both have shrunk and become very pale. Im not sure what I can do more, Ive been trying to nurse them back to health but nothing is working. I have a 120 gallon with 2x150 1400k + 2x95 420nm lighting. All other coral and fish are doing well. I have some SPS, LPS, and Zoa colonies all growing and have nice color. I also have a very large condy in the tank 16+" across doing very well, not within touching distance.

What can I try??

Never have dealt with one that has split. Have both healed and have intact mouths? If so (and I would expect so after 2 months) I would target feed (very small chunks) for a while to help them recover from the split. Keep an eye on them and be patient, I would suspect they just need some time.

Intact mouths, and they healed almost instantly.

I just tried to Target feed both, one ate quickly, good! Other the shrimp is just sitting there, it looks the worst of the two and I feel I may lose it.

Still I Target feed them least once a week, and not sure its a problem.

sometimes a anemone splits because it is stressed you say that they have lost some of its color it may have expelled it zooanthia if you keep feeding them and you keep the tank prams in check he may recover

They are both basicly clear at this point other than some rose color on the tips. I guess thats all I can really do and hope for the best.... I just don't understand how everything eles is doing fine and they are not, but I guess this hobby would be too easly thus not nearly as intresting if everything were cut and dry... biology love it!

Are the nems maybe getting too much light? Did you Shorten your light period when you acclimated the bta? The nems sound very bleached, I would reduce your light and try hand feeding them.

is there a spot that they can get out of the light in your tank if not you may want to put a clay flowerpot on its side in there for them to recover in the too much light can and will kill a bta

wow, too much light, I am running my 150w Dual MHs 7 hours now for the last week, but I didn't think they could be getting to much of it, if anything not enough. What photo period would you recommend for a BTA?

The RBTA will split when it is stressed out. My RBTA will move to another location when there is too much light. In fact it has changed a few position until the current one.

You got the BTA 5 months ago, I saw on you your description you run your lights for ten hours and atinics for 14 hours. I was mainly wondering if you reduced your photoperiod when you first introduced the bta into your tank? I have noticed with my bta that it prefers a shorter light period until it can gradually get used to the lights. Is your bta able to get away from the lights?

No, it isn't able to get out of the light now, when I first had him my photo period was shorter by 2 hours and he was not directly under the light, he is getting more light now only because I felt he wasn't getting enough before after he split and began to pale.

Just feed both today and they ate! I noticed if I do not defend them vigorously then my two scarlet shrimp will snatch the food away quickly. From now on I will ensure they consume the meal before turning my back!

Feed silver sides today and table shrimp two days ago. I will continue to swap feed type each feeding.

Should I feed each day? Two or three days?

Usually I've seen the recommendation being small portions and every other day. I've also seen warnings on this site about silversides so maybe you want to keep away from them (better safe than sorry). You could do shrimp then mussel then scallop and rotate. I also have these very large (dried) krill that my RBTA and Condy love! I soak them first then, when soft, hand feed. Oh, and I give each of the skunk cleaners (hosting in the Condy) their own little piece first ... that way they leave the nemmies alone.

Wow your Condy hosts your skunk shrimp! That's awesome, I have a Condy and to skunk but no hosting..... sad, lol.
