and its my efflo colony, pretty much almost done-for, what should i do to try to save some? frag it or what...any ideas

also my huge incredible hulk acro colony is flanked by the same nem and another BTA, but that one doesnt seem to be hurting as bad....yet

bummer, hate it when they move about killing all in its way, i had a small one move and damage some frags but the frags came back, maybe yours will too :) your rbta is pretty large right?

+2 on another aquarium. picking up a hex tank today, btw...oh, the water fun never stops over here...

Personally I would let nature take its course with the coral. In my experiences all fragging does is stress the coral more and cause it to die faster

Yep, btas will always walk. They will stay for a while, but will eventually walk, ime. Mine stayed up until he split, then he moved to a diff spot to split, and the clones went walking about. I think these guys are best for a species tank, or maybe with something they can't sting (clams?) Or, like Gary said, a larger system to spread the love in. ;)

Personally I'd frag, but I'm not an expert with sps, so there ya go. Ultimately, though, if I really cared about the coral I'd start a new tank for the nems or sell them off and get a species that isn't so known to walk about.

If there is enough left, I'd take a frag cutting at least a quarter inch into tissue that appears healthy.

yea thats what im usually about, letting nature take its course. i might frag a piece just to regrow it again (over 2 years). my bta's usually never move and ive had them over 2 years. even when splitting. ive always had good luck until my rbta had grown to 4x its original size in between a few of my colonies

I would frag as well mabe even 2 in case one does not make it. Like TMZ said make sure you are well into the healthy tissue tho.

My rbta hosted by two clowns has stayed in one spot for years, fortunately. It's surrounded by grandis polyps on one side and a nepthea on the other which I don't think cares to move towards. It has split many times but I'm usually pretty good at catching the clones off the back glass when they start to move.
