RBTA Placement

Foody

I purchased this beauty today from a fellow reefer. After acclimating I allowed the little guy to float down and this is where he landed. 15 Minutes later he was opened up, happier than a pig in poop. Unfortunately the locals, normally opened up under the moon lights, don't appear as enthusiastic. Do I need to manually move him if he doesn't do so himself? Will he hurt the zoas? Will they hurt him? :love1:

Yes he will most likely hurt the zoas if he stays there. If his foot is already firmly attached I wouldn't try to move him. He is likely to wander around for a bit until he finds the perfect spot. Moving him manually will cause stress and if the foot gets torn then it could be fatal for the anemone. Good luck! I hope he moves for you.

P.s you could point more flow towards him to get him to lie away if he doesn't end up moving on his own.

Well poop! The zoa are on a discarded mussel shell and now the nem has decided to attach to the only 1/4" of shell that was left. No idea what to do now.

leave the anemone go where it wants to. make sure powerheads and drains are a safe distance away from the anemone. your zoanthids will be fine.
