RBTA size?

I bought a rbta listed in craigslist. It is about 1.5" now and was split from one that was roughly 3.5" before the split. The person told me the tank he bought it (the 3.5" mother) from has many rbta's from small to big so he did not know which one it was from. My questions are:

1. Does that mean the one I got likely will not grow more than 3.5"?
2. If it is possible to outgrow its mother, what should I do to prevent it from splitting when it's still small.
3. I have a 75g and some sps, It will be ideal if it can quickly grow to around 6" and then stop growing. ^^
4. How fast will it grow, assuming it won't split, to 6"? roughly how many months?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't have any good answers for you. I've never even heard of them splitting under nearly 12". Could you post a picture? And if they do stay small, I'd like to get in line for one of the clones. Sounds cool.

Sometimes when stressed a BTA will split before it reaches full-size. My expectation is that if you offer the little one good water conditions, it will get to at least 10 inches across or so before it divides. There may be bloodlines that remain small and divide even in good water conditions/no stress, but I personally haven't witnessed that.
