RBTA too big for tank?

A neighbor took down his 6 foot tank, and I used it as an opportunity to start up again with a 40 breeder. I inherited 4 or 5 larger RBTAs on a rock, along with a breeding pair of clowns. So far the nems have stayed in place, but I worry if they are just too large for the tank.

Right now I consider it a nice looking centerpiece, but I'm wondering if I'd be better off taking a chisel to the rock and keeping a single RBTA. Thoughts?

Personally would keep them all - I think it looks nice (I have 12 RBTA in my IM nuvo 20 in my college office, and 4 RBTA and 5 GBTA in my 40B in my home office). Just don't feed them if you want to keep the status quo...

As long as you can keep up with water changes -- enough to keep the parameters suitable for keeping the BTAs -- I say go for it. I agree that a tank for of nems looks cool.

You guys are insane, that is way too much and would look so much better in my 6' tank.

I think you will be ok but if you decided to get ride of some please let me know.

Like D-Nak,if you keep up the tank parameters it should be no problem.I had a 40 breeder with 10 Rbtas for a year before upgradeing to a larger tank, only because I wanted some tangs.

Heck, I have had the IM 20 Nuvo running in my office for the last few months with at least 12 of the RBTA's - started with 6-8 of them, and have removed a couple of the larger ones. I do not feed them, but they keeping growing and splitting "like rabbits"! Everyone that passes by the office gravitates towards it and asks about it, and it is a "piece of cake" to care for... :)

I was having some trouble keeping them away from coral, but readjusting my flow has kept them together and out of trouble (so far). Keeping my fingers crossed, but I might part with one or two of the smaller ones.
