RBTA under LEDS?

Do RBTA's do well on high power LED fixtures like CREE XR-E leds and so?

I have a 18 CREE XR-E LED fixture (9 CW / 9 RB) and all my corals are doing fine including SPS, Favia, Acan, Frogspawn, Zoos and gsp. I just introduced a RBTA, but it seems to be hiding from light under a rock.

How did you acclimate it?

18 LED's, not sure. That seems a bit low to me, which tells me the tank's not that big. That may be a bigger issue for you. As for LED's supporting them, I have quite a few anemones under XRE LED, including RBTA and GBTA. All nems very happy. Just passed the one year mark. They all love it. But I have 48-67 LED's per 24", depending on which fixture they're under.

To acclimate the anemone I did a drip line method for 1.5 hours.

I have a 10 gallon, tank length is 20" and fixture length is 18"

Lighting that is intense enough for SPS will be too bright for BTA's that are not used to it. With acclimation, they will slowly adapt. Until they DO adapt, they will hide from the light in cracks and crevasses.

Mine is doing fine under LEDs. I have around 200 par on the anemone right now and slowly ramping it up even more!

Don't worry. Nems hide when they are first put in a tank. It will be on the move looking for a spot with the right amount of flow and light for it's liking. Keep an eye out though that it doesn't plop down next to your sps pieces and start stinging it.
