I found this on ebay and felt very sorry for the person. I'm guessing they have no idea about the depreciation on their purchase. When they find out, they'll probably be horrified.

The people are probably quittin' the hobby b/c they think that is really how much it costs to keep marine fish. Those poor people have no idea how badly they got screwed. That's what happens when you go to only one shop for everything (with the exception of a few great LFS).

Just the plumbing alone is outrageous!!!

All of the parts listed on the receipt are all at least 4x's what they cost at HD or Savko.

Your right Jeni,

A $1000 is probably not too bad for that setup. But that's their starting price. Their buyout is $2000, so I don't know what their expectations may be. No consumer should have to be taken for a ride like that.
