Balancing herbivores, carnivores, similar species etc. can be a real puzzle. Below is my current stock, then what I hope to order, unless there are some obvious issues. The tank is stable and mature. Tank is a 6', 150 gal. 18" wide by 29' deep.
Powder Blue Tang
Yellow Tang
Yellow Coris Wrasse
McCosker Flashing Wrasse (male?)
2 x PJ/Spotted Cardinalfish
2 x "œbasic" clowns (not sure if they are perc or oscellarious)
One Spot Foxface
Diamond Goby
Dwarf Flame Angelfish
Pygmy Angelfish

New, proposed additions:
Trio of Disbar Anthias, Small
Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse
Hawkfish
red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse

All would go through TTM together.

I was thinking of a Longnose Hawkfish, but just saw that the eat shrimp. That would be VERY unpopular with my wife's best friend that has named our cleaner shrimp, Louis....
While, in a perfect world, the PBT would have been the last addition, I thought that the Anthias could work since they do not compete for the same food? I think Bartlett's and other Anthias are some of the prettiest fish in the hobby. I''d like to add more fish to the upper area of the tank. So are the Wrasses a better choice? My McKosker and Yellow Choris are both in the same "œzone" as the PBT, but there is zero aggression. The Foxface and the PBT have weeks where I think they will kill each other, but not a single nip out of any fins, so maybe it's just for show.
I would like to add some additional groups of color, but also some fish with character to the sand (which is why I thought of the Hawkfish).

Hawks definitely like inverts. But longnose are awesome because they cant fit a shrimp in their mouth. At least in my experience, they do fine with shrimp.

I can't help you with the anthias.

The flasher, solon, and Lubbock's wrasses are compatible.

Every tank should have a longnose or flame hawk, imo.

So, the list looks good to me.

I have a longnose hawkfish with my cleaner shrimp and two blood shrimp. He doesnt bother them, and he doesnt bother our hermit crabs either. They are beuatiful fish and mine likes to follow my fingers behind the glass :)
