ready to stock?

I have a 32g m-tank. 32 pounds of Bali live rock and 2" live sand bed.

It's been cycling for 2 weeks, but the rock was fully cured so it was suggested to me by the LFS where I got it that it wouldn't really cycle the same way non-cured rack would.

That said, all my numbers have been pretty static - Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites are ~0, pH 8.2, salinity 1.025 temp fluctuates beween 79.5 and 81.0.

Lots of algae is growing now and i have to clean the glass daily. There's some green bubble algae and green hair algae on the rocks.

The LFS suggested that maybe the rule of adding clean-up crew is not necessary - says they will clear the algae but then die and i'll then have a bigger problem (ammonia spike). He called it he "new tank syndrom" and nothing to worry about. It weill clear up within a few weeks to two months. He figures the tank is ready to stock?

Anyway, i would eventulaly like to have a pair of clowns, some soft corals, and maybe a gobi and pistol shrimp.

What's my next step?

Thanks.

you can add some fish just make sure their cheap, damsels are what most people buy first because it helps the tank cycle faster. Just watch out for the damsels later on most become exceedingly agressive as they grow larger

Damsels aren't a good idea to cycle your tank. Many people disagree with the whole damsel cycling tank idea. Your tank seems to have already cycled. I would start out and get some fish that are pretty easy to keep and care for such as gobies, clownfish, chromis.
