Realistic storage time of phyto.

I read that it can be stored in the fridge for 5 months. Other sites say 5 weeks. What is realistic? Im talking about home grown phyto.

Why does DT's smell like crap? My home harvest smells like nothing.

What are the most popular strains of phyto?

Storage time can vary by species, but off hand I'm not aware of any species that can be stored in the fridge for 5 months as a live and viable culture. I've heard 2 weeks for Iso, and about 4 weeks for nano, but haven't tried storing any myself. Probably the most popular is nanochloripsis, it's very easy to culture and rot's do well on it. The next most popular, and best nutritionally, is T-Isochyrsis.

Nanno can survive over a year in cold storage and still be viable. Let me rephrase that...Nanno can survive in a refrigerator for over a year and still be viable. Other species length varies quite a bit. Problem is settling/clumping. If allowed to clump/settle you'll usually see some sort of break down (bad smell).
