Really hoping this storm takes a diff path, or at least isnt as bad as expected. I have no generator, should I make a batch of saltwater now and keep it stored in case of power outage and do a water change if the power is out for awhile?

yeah. And I am sure the price of generators have doubled since the 5 o'clock news.

Whats the best action to take in such an event if you dont have a generator?

Might have to make an emergency run and find an inverter, maybe craigslist lol. Thanks guys, crossing my fingers I dont need it.

I got by with an inverter during the infamous October storm, along with a couple of battery operated air pumps,my woodstove and some blanket wraps for the basement tanks, but ran out of gas and it was hard to get. Most stations were closed and without power to the pumps early on. Batteries were hard to find too. About 3 days into no power( IIRC we had 8 days here) I was able to get a generator from Home Depot in Rochester; drove there at 4 am and grabbed one of a new supply received that day. What a relief; not only for the tanks but for the house sump which was bubbling over requiring virtually non stop bailing and mopping. I'll always have a genertor handy.
