Receding tissue on my giant lobo..

Unfortunately my big lobo is taking a turn for the worse... The tissue has been receding ever since last November when my Spanish hog started sleeping inside the lobes at night. By the Time I caught the fish he did some good damage to the tissue around the lobes. My brain has noticeably gotten smaller over the past 3 months. I hope it pulls through... Any thing I can do other than feed?

I would pull and try giving it a dip. How long was it in the tank prior to it starting to go down hill? It could be getting to much light or flow. I had a lobo almost die down to nothing, I dipped it 2 times within a week (coralRX) and moved it to a lower light spot with less flow and made sure it got food every few days. That was 4 years ago and it is big and looking good today.

The benefits of an iodine or Revive dip far outweigh the stress they will go through in the dip process. IMO and IME

Dip Dip Dip it can save that coral. i have had a few of these do the same exact thing and for no random reason. ( dipping with coral rx and iodine will insure the health and hopefully bring it back to its normal state.

To me it looks like it's starving , the tissue recedes very slowly. Could be that your tank is too clean, try to get your nitrates higher and throw in some aminos, it doesn't help most people but it works for me because I always have trouble keeping my nitrates above 2, I always try to hit 10, I lost one to the same problem, and only figured out that it starved after it died . Now I have a big lobo and I occasionally feed it with a few pieces of store bought shrimp and I try to keep my water with enough suspended organics so that my lps don't recede. ( but make sure to keep your phosphate in check)

However the same stuff could also be caused by low calcium or alk. I'm assuming you have those in check

Well not good every day more and more of it dies..... Not sure what to do. It's almost half dead, almost the whole Back side is gone. Should I take it to someone and have them cut the dead part off with a frag saw? This sucks don't think he's gonna recover.

at this point I think it couldn't hurt to try another dip with something different like coralRX or iodine. I would try getting one of those and see if it helps.
