Received a pair of Klein Butterflies with odd identical white markings

I ordered a pair of Klein Butterflyfish from LA, received them today and they both have an identical white marking towards the top which can be seen on both sides of each fish.

If it was on one fish, I would have thought it simply lost a scale or two. But since it's identical and on both fish what about needling, collection practices, etc? I'm not convinced that's it either because the marking isn't near the swim bladder. Anyone know?

Not from a swim bladder issue since that is relieved thru the anus. Is the white raised or have any sort of texture to it?

It almost looks like someone pinched the fish to hold it, a few scales fell off and it's now healing. There's no texture, not concave or convex and very bright white. Like I said earlier there's a mirror image of it on both sides of each fish.

One of the Kleins died overnight - appears to be mostly from a mouth infection.
I got a good look at the white spots and I think they're simply a stress marking, there's others, much smaller that follow in line with the one pictured along the spine.

I don't think the white blotch is a disease/injury. Not all have it but many do. I've also seen them come in with a dark spot instead of white in the same area.

kleinii seem to be one of the easier butterflies to keep, not easy, just easier. lol

Yeah, I always keep an eye out for mouth injuries on them, I used Bifuran + to successfully treat one that wasn't eating a few years ago. Now I have Nitrofuracin Green powder and will likely use that in the future. This Klein was too far gone when he arrived. Good news is the other is still well, eats blackworms and Larry's Reef Frenzy and the mysterious stress spot is fading.
