Richard,

Thank you so much for spreading out the extra coral rocks and made lifting much easier on the back. This time delta delivered on time to LGA.

The rocks are so beautiful and with so much life in them it mades aquascaping very difficult without putting something on top of another live organism (we all have something to complaint even when you do such a great job).

If you guys and gals are thinking about starting a tank with LS & LR, don't hesitate to buy from TBS. Wonderful people and quick response.

KC

PS the hermit craps went right to work as soon as I acclimated them in and at this rate they clean hair algae I may need to grow some just for them and 1/2 hr later the snails started up the rocks and glass. Cumcumbe seem to be stuck to each other but not moving and holding very strong even when I tried to move them.

Since the 1st day that I saw both cucumber now I only see one and this one is constantly on the glass. It just stays around the top and doesn't want to come down. Is this normal? I can't find the 2nd one and I've too many rocks to dig into the sand bed to search. Do you think the 2nd one is under the sand?

mine hide in the rocks and climb the glass as well.. a few times we've thought one or the other was dead...

I hardly EVER see mine--they hide 99% of the time.

Thanks for the feedbacks. Because I still have a mantis in the tank and I thought the mantis went for a big meal.

They are hardy--you will never see them though. If one croaks off, you'll see a severe spike in ammonia. That will be the only indication.

I am not aware of anything that eats a healthy cucumber.

in fact some of them are toxic if they die or get injured
like the "Sea Apple" for example... like most sea creatures
"Bright colors == poison"

but our drab ones are not super toxic but if they are harrased they can do a trick that will shock you ....
they can litteraly "Vomit" thier guts out as a defense ...

they only do that under the worst stress / harrasment.
they can live after that and re-grow new guts.

recall they are related to star fish and stars can be cut in two and make new "arms" and keep living....

some cu's will find a hole in a rock and then stay there, extending the "Mouth" end out to feed, some can be rather long and hover up stuff around a rock they hide in.

just a few of the things I have read about them and seen...

Thanks for the info. Have any of you seen a mantis smashed a fish before? Just a little nervous of putting fish in there now after seeing the mantis come out so far from his rock.

Finally, both cucumbers came out at the same time. Now the trouble is since I put the lawnmower blenny in last week I haven't seen it since.

some times the mower's can hide too....

try and just watch the tank for a while w/o any people near or hands in the tank.

also they often "blend in" with the rocks and any alge they find.

some times you can have one sitting in a hole watching you and you do not even see him for a while.

as they get comfy they can get very tame, I had one that would feed from my hand. after a move he seemed ok but then he just disapeared ...

my blenny

my blenny

My bleeny hides about 50% of the time. When I first got him he hid all the time now he is always out and about looking for food. He and the yellow tang did such a good job I have to by marine algae sheets and clip them on the sides to feed . The bleen is so funny.. I wish I could have several in a tank :( But alass they will not get along. I just love bleeny/gobies they are so cute!!!

Hey, at least you see the 50% of the time I haven't seen mine since the moment it went into the water.

Strange that the mantis hasn't made any noise for almost 36 hours and haven't poke its head out either. Its MIA and this mades me nervous. Either its got a big meal or its dead.
