Recommend a good cheapo camera

I have a friend that is looking to spend around $150.00 for a P&S camera that he can use to take close-ups of his coral. I know it's a small budget but you never know. Anybody have a recommendation? If you have any pics that you took with your recommendation, that would help if you posted them.

you might be able to look at some used camera's in this price range. But "good" is relative, and IMO your not going to get anything "good" in this price range.

Jeff, I have a Canon SD780IS P&S that I'm pretty happy with (for a P&S). It takes pretty good(720p) videos as well.

Got mine for $129 from dell a few months ago. I see it goes for $199 so it is in your budget.

Mind you it is not a great camera (even in the P&S world), but it is tiny and gets the job done.

Nice pics terahz . Thats what I'm looking for for this guy. I dont think hw is looking for DSLR quality even though he cant afford it anyway. There are plenty of P&S cameras out there that that excellent pictures. I just didnt have an answer for him. For $129.00, I may get one lol.

Sony T500. Also shoots 720pvid and has a super macro setting along with a regular macro setting that will use flash.

The canon powershots in general are great cameras for the money. I've been very happy with my 720IS. However, it's time for me to move on and for a P&S I'm seriously considering the Panasonic linked here. I'd also highly suggest buydig.com as a place to purchase it from, great prices and great service.
