Recommendation on RO/DI unit

I hate to say it, but DFS is a little over priced IMO. You can pick up a good unit from one of our sponsors under $200. Melevsreef, thefilterguys etc all have great entry level units. Try to grab a 75gpd unit, with full sized cannisters and a regular DI cannister, not a horizontal mount;)

How bad is your water? If bad, I would go with Spectrapure, it will be more economical in the long run. If good, the two recommendations will work.

Suggest getting it from one of the RC sponsors.

Who ever you go with, I would suggest getting a 75 GPD unit, compared to a 100 GPD one. With a good RO membrane you should get a 96-98% rejection rate, compared to 90% with a 100 GPD unit.

If you want the best then its the Spectrapure MaxCap by far. Its what I use and recommend but it may be out of your budget. Even so I would look at it and possibly save a little more towards its purchase.
If you want a very good reef quality system that should suit your needs and include things like a TDS meter and high quality filters then look at the 75 GPD Premium from www.buckeyefieldsupply.com . They are an RC Sponsor and no one else can touch that price for what you get. Best value system out there.

I recently got mine from BulkReefSupply. They have a good price on the 5 stage standard kit. Any of the sponsors would be good, BRS is just very close to me so shipping times are super short.
