Recommendations for clown hosting

Everyone,

Looking to pick up a clown pair this weekend. Besides the RBTA....what would be the next best thing that you can recommend that are not "Anenomes" that Ocellaris clowns will host. I have heard that the Torches, and Frogspan are good choices.

Not a big fan of BTA's moving around my tank and stinging other corals. Looking for coral recommendations. Right now I only have Yumas, Ricordeas, and Scolys in my tank.

A nice large toadstool would be your best option imo, but there is no guarantee the clowns will go near anything but a natural host.

i currently have a pair of ocellaris in my reef tank. one is hosting a sebae won't share. the other has started hosting a couple different torches and a frogspawn :)

like someone else stated though, no guaranty. this clown was already being hosted by a bta when i moved it into the reef tank. i think it was used to being hosted, and just for the torches and frogspawn.

My percula and ocellaris pair host my thick stalk torch coral. My LFS has Davinci Clowns (I think ocellaris) that host a hammer. Anyways my point here is that typically euphyllia (torch, frog, hammer octopus, etc.) seem to work best in place of an anemone (in both cases listed above a rose bubble was actually present in the tank). If you choose to try a euphyllia make sure to get a large thick stalked (Torch coral can have substantial difference in head/tentacle/branch size) or scrolling/wall euphyllia (more difficult to care for typically) because your clowns will beat the daylights out of it.
