red bug question

I have a quick question. If someone knows they have red bugs on there acros, and they have a monti cap in there tank. Will that also be infected... I'm thinking about buying a cap from someone who said they have redbugs on there acros, can that infect my tank with redbugs if I put the cap into my system?

Montipora's do not get Redbugs, only Acropora's.

Red bugs aren't as hard to get rid of as alot of posts lead people to believe. One treatment usually works.

Ok i think i'm going to get it and put it in a friends softie tank which has halides and treat it there so it doesn't effect my colonies. What do i Use to treat these things and where can I get it? thanks for the help

Ok new question.... if this cap is put into a tank with no acros, will the redbugs starve and die within a few weeks therefore allowing me to add it to my system?

Yes if you quarantine the cap w/o sps any red bugs should strave and die.

i believe five days is all they can last without an acro.
