I'm treating my acros for red bugs, but i have a question. Do i have to treat my birdnest?? since its not a acropora and all??

thanks

any coral, rock or even snail shell can potentially serve as a transportation for RB and other stuff. They sure cant survive long without acro but they do move around so there is always a chance.

I am not telling you how to treat... I am jsut telling you how I would treat, i would rarther treat the whole tank and be safe.. You never know if a coral fell between a rock or something and the RB will go to that and not starve then..

Basically i would rarhter be safe then sorry...

njb2345, thanks for your responses and yes i know what you mean, better safe then sorry. I rather not treat the whole tank because of certain inverts i can't catch and cant put myself to killing them like that. But the good part is that most of my acros are still frags and i know exactly how many and where each one is, so i'm 100% positive i left no acros behind.:)

and thanks to the rest of you guys too

I have red bugs and my tank is thriving, I used to treat it, but
i think my cleaner shrimps are keeping them in check so all my corals retain their colors and growing like weed.

I am decided not to treat my tank at all. You have the option of not treating it too
