Does anybody know of a fast way to get rid of red bugs? I recently received an acro that I bought from Happy Coral and again I have red bugs from one of his corals! Luckily I put it in quarantine so it's not in my main system. I have dipped it in coral rx but do not want to stress it anymore than I have too.

Just received 5 corals from Christian and no red bugs on any of them and this is my second order from him. I did not get RB also from my first order. Can you post pics? I looked at his coral pics using the macro feature in his website and I never see RB on any.

I don't have a camera good enough to take a quality pic of them but they look like small orangeish red fleas. Like the ones in this picture.

Those are RB, but can we see the true coral that you got from him. When did you receive it from him? Just checked all my corals and they are RB free. Not sure if you got RB from him.

I have used Bayer Insect Killer from Home Depot with good results. It's easy on the corals too. Gotta thank Whisperer for discovering it though.. ;). Good luck,coralmann1.

Thanks to everyone that posted helpful advice! I picked up some interceptor at the vet and am going to try that. Wish me luck!

wow I have alot of stuff from Christian and bug free I know he dips them before he sells them and holds them for QT at least a week after the dip just in case at least he did for mine would love to see the coral you got from him that was infested..?

insane acro where are you located it seems pm's are not accepted ? tried to pm you ..see your new here too ..
Welcome aboard..

If you use interceptor, remember it can kill shrimp and crabs. Some have had luck with their crabs/shrimp not dying but others have

i love how he ignores everyone who asks to see the coral he bought from christian... i recently got a Millie from him bug free..and looks great..

Luckily I have this coral in my quarantine system

That is actually smart. Not lucky.

Everyone else seems to have really good luck with this vendor.
Did you pizz this guy off somehow?
Seems kinda suspicious that he only sends them to you. And twice? :worried:

I have concerns because I bought SPS from Christian twice so I called him and asked specifically about this thread. He looked up order history and he told me that he had not shipped any coral from Denver, Co. In at least 6 months and the last one 6 months ago was not even SPS but fish instead. I'm puzzled, also waiting for actual pic of the RB infested SPS.

either way how long does it take in QT to get rid of them (red bugs)?
Also if one did get a coral that looked clean and in fact it had aefw eggs how long does it take for those to hatch? time in QT for aefw with dips should be how long to break the cycle?

I have ordered SPS in the past from Christian, No issues at all. The corals came in great health. And when they did not he was very reasonable talking to. He fixed any issue I've ever had and is an A+ vendor IMO.

I know this is my first post. But I joined ReefCentral back in 09'. Just a forum browser I guess.

Regardless. I hope you can get the problem taken care of. and JM2C... Its usually good to contact a vendor before talking about them on a public forum. Most places are usually good about working with the customer and fixing any issue.

I have purchased corals from happy coral in the past and have had pretty good luck. I hope your issue gets taken care of.
