Red bugs?

breutus

Don't ask me, I'm wrong.
Can they attack montipora digita? I was under the impression that they only feed off of acros?

I have only one sps in my tank it is a MD that I am slowly nursing back to health. Today I saw a bunch of little things crawling all over it. They look like copepods to me and were not red they were transparent, smaller than amphipods or mysis shrimp. If it is redbugs can they hurt anything else in the tank such as LPS or anemones?

I'll get a picture up here in a few but don't expect to much as my cameras not that great

Those arent red bugs. Looks like Flatworms which are much much harder to get rid of.

Good luck, hope Im wrong

at least I got someone who has had them that said they aren't red bugs.

I wonder if they are just pods since they are not very healthy corals they had stn real bad and I am not sure if I got it all when I fragged it up

Definitely not redbugs. Hard to tell from pic, but would guess pods either feeding on the coral tissue, or perhaps there is something smaller that is feeding on the coral tissue and the pods are eating them. Good luck on the coral, definitely not a happy camper...

Or perhaps monti eating nudibranch? I'm not real familiar with them.

yeah I am thinking isopods, right now there is nothing on any of the frags, I was thinking nudi's but they don't look anything like them up close and the can be blown off it pretty easy with a turkey baster

A hundred percent like them! It has to be them there are down to a T just like em.

thank you tinysuperbug glad it's nothing harmful. yeah this particular frag is small and is probably the worst out of the bunch but it was close to the glass so easy to photograph. I guess that explains why I only see them on the ones that have algae on them
