Red Fromia Help Needed Urgently

We have had a red fromia star since November. Over the past few weeks it's movement throughout the tank has decreased to mostly about 3 spots and it will hang out in one of those places all the time with little movement. Today my wife notice it on the back wall of our tank. About an hour or so later she noticed it was missing 1 leg. Then a few hours later it was missing 2 more. Now when I got home on the back wall was 2 legs attached together and one by its self. They seem to still move and work and all look as if they have some if not part of the center.

Should I remove the parts I can find or will they regrow? Are there any dangers I should watch out for? Toxins they release?

It sounds like it's dying :( They often starve in all but the largest of reef tanks.

Get it out. They may not release toxins as they die - which it's doing - but you don't want that big of load of decaying flesh in your tank & spiking the parameters.
