Red Haddon Anemone

From what I see, there are three potential issues.

1. Your alkalinity is far too low, it should be at least 8. Please work on raising that slowly, it should take at least 24 hours to get up above 8 safely.

2. Your anemones could be fighting each other with chemicals. You should add a large amount of carbon as soon as possible to start absorbing those chemicals.

3. Your anemone may have an infection, would require treatment with fluconazole or similar. This usually best done in a quarantine tank if you have already established.
Thanks @bradleym for the info. I usually don’t test at night so that’s the reason I believe my alk is low. My dosing starts early in the morning. I ll check again tomorrow midday. I will add carbon asap and perform a water change. I am not sure I could get a fluconazole since most of the pet shops are closed due to Easter holidays but I will check tomorrow. What I got myself before was human grade ciprofloxacin which I don’t if I can use…can the treatment be effected in the display tank too?

I think cipro is the right one, actually. Please always research anything I say as I can make mistakes. :)

You alkalinity should ideally never go below 8, even at night. It should be roughly 8-10 at all times IMO.

Thanks @bradleym for the help! Do you think human grade cipro will do since I have not find any particular reference to this online?

Sorry,
I did not see this until now. I would take him out and treat with antibiotic ASAP. Sooner is better than later for sure. Good luck. There is a treatment thread in the sticky part of the forum

Thanks @OrionN ! It was always my dream to keep a red carpet anemone. Unfortunately things did not looked good. Have set up a 10liter quarantine tank. Unfortunately didn’t have bigger and that made dosing cipro extremely difficult. I had the anemone for a day or so but unfortunately needed to leave so put the anemone back to the display tank since it was reacting to touch and was quite sticky. I am returning back home tomorrow. The fact that I see from my reef camera that my clowns still hosting it is it positive? Returning home tomorrow night.
