Red plating montipora issues

Ok so phosphates tested.... Think this is my issue... Not sure how accurate thr salifert test kit is as the powder is a little clumpy so hard to measure accurately. but its coming in at 0.25ppm. Which is not good at all.

I usually do a 1 gallon water change a week, and maybe this is my downfall with calcium depletion etc. Did a 2gallon change today. And also now got the Sg up to 1.026. Also calcium is at 420 ish aftet the water change.... The montis arent looking to bad this last day or two tbh, but my birds nest has all but had it i think :(

. (cant upload pics atm... Will put a couple up tomorrow)

Thanks for all the help thus far all!

Added 500grams of activated carbon and 250g of rowaphos into the rear chamber, both are moved about a faor amount in their media bags by flow.

Not used rowaphos before, how long should i leave it in?

Hopefully this, paired with larger water changes will sort things out

I suspect:

Low callium;250ppm is very low IMO;growth is part of life;if they can't calclify properly they will suffer.

Low salinity; 1.023 is marginaly low; 1.022 can do damage,IMO. 1.026 works well,IME.

PO4 at .25 is high side and may be a cause for concern . I'd reduce it slowly.

Smlaler more frequent water cahnges are my preference to maintain constancy FWIW.

Yes ,that's it. Some use automated exchanges. I've been considering that for a long time but haven't gotten around to it. I keep about 20 gallons of salt water ready in a loosley covered bin with a small powerhead and replace the 7 gallons I use daily with RO/DI and salt mix. Sometimes I siphon out a little detritus as I draw it out.
