NaCl+H2O Fish
For ick a natural way to control it is:
- feed your fish good quality meaty foods with garlic.
- get some cleaner shrimp. They are very effective at removing ick. My Chalk Bass had a bad case and the cleaners removed it in a week
- temporarily run a UV sterilizer.
If that doesn't work and you are at risk of losing fish consider an antibiotic. Polylab Medic is reef safe and they claim it won't harm nitrifying bacteria.

Polyp Lab Medic contains Metronidazole and for about 1/4 the cost you can get some API Metronidazole. I have used this in the past and noticed no ammonia spike after so it looks like it didn't kill the nitrifying bacteria.
