Red Sea Regal angel

Has anyone got a regal in thier tank w/ acans and micro's?

The top 1/2 of my tank is dominated by sps and the bottom is filling up w/ acan's, micro's, and challice's. I have removed almost all of my fish lately(to big now) and will be adding a few new harmless fish to keep things moving, but I REALLY want a Regal.

If it is LPS suicide I will skip it but I have to ask.

What you all think?

I recently added a Red Sea Regal to my mostly SPS tank. There are a few LPS in there ( Echinos and Acans) that I could not find room for in other tanks. The only thing the Regal has bothered so far is a Acan Echinata colony, which he ate about half of and then stopped. I've only had him for about 4 weeks, but so far, he has left everything else alone.

If I could be so lucky......I can't seem to make the acan echinata's happy in my main reef anyway!?!?!?!? I have some nice one's but they are in my fuge.

Nice tank by the way, and nice Regal.

Sweet looking tank, does the tusk bother anything? I've had experience with Red Sea Regals eating entire colonies of zoos but won't touch the acans. Take care of the coraline on the bottom and the tank goes from an A to an A+. Nice.

The only thing the Tusk has bothered is abig hairy black crab, which must have been a hitchhiker on some rock. This was one of the reasons I got him. So far, he has been very well behaved, even timid at times.

As for the coralline, if I could get it off without destroyinh my SPS colonies, it would be gone. The corals have grown so close to the sides, that I can't get in there to scrape. My next tank upgrade will take this into account. I'm planning on leaving 12 inches on all sides between rock and tank sides.

I get a kick out of people complaining that they can't grow coralline, and even buying additives like purple up to try to make it grow. In my opinion, it is a big PITA!!

I have a Regal on hold at Phishy business. Serdar is even moving it into a system w/ acan's and challice's to see if he picks at all. If all goes well next week I will have a Regal!! A Regal that is currently eating mysis and brine!!

Mine is eating everything I put in there, from flake, to Nori, to any of the frozen foods and formulas to Cyclopese, dude is a pig!

I got the Regal!!!!

He/she is gorgeous and I have seen it eat three pe mysis. It seems calm and friendly which I have heard is indicative of angels from Phishy Business. Serdar must sing love songs to them or something????

My purple tang which is the exact same size is the only one unhappy about all this. It is showing aggression but not physical aggression to my Regal. I hope this passes soon or I will have to trap it and get a new smaller one.

I placed a clay pot in the back in hopes that the regal would hide in it and sure enough its in there on and off all day. I can't see it from the front so I will probably just leave it in.

Awsome, keep us updated and get us some pics. I have heard nothing but great things about Serdar and Phishy Business. Specially when it comes to this fish. I plan on buying one from him when I get my 125 set up. Hopefully before the year is up. Did you see it eat in your tank or at Phishy Business? I think the tang will calm down after a while but keep an eye on him.

I watched him eat in my tank, only a few hours after introduction.

I hope the tang calms down, I would hate to trade him in.
