Red Substance in Pump Housing

I cleaned the impeller chamber of my PSK75H eshopps protein skimmer two days ago, and I found a red substance coating the magnet and plastic blades, as well as coating the inside of the chamber...my corals and clams etc seem to be fine, but I find it very odd. It was fairly bright red. I've been dosing lanthanum chloride (Phosbuster Pro) in this tank; does it precipitate reddish? Otherwise I'm worried it could be some kind of pump fluid leaking into the impeller chamber.

when i was using GFO i would get red/rust color deposits on my pump impellers.

Ive also had impellers wear though the inside of a pump housing and make the interior areas and impeller red/rust color.
