Reed dynamics skimmer question

I have a friend who has a big Reef dynamic ins400 which has two ecoplus 1056 on it. These pumps are about 1080 GPH.

I was considering replacing these pumps on it with two ecoplus 1267 which is a little over 1300 GPH.

Does anybody know if you can upgrade the pump like that and increase the skimmers efficiency? Or would this make the skimmer not work properly?

We used to add pumps and upgrade pumps on Euro Reefs all the time. Turned they into monsters.

I always upgraded my Euro reefs with an extra pump it made them better. I like the sedra pumps

Yeah I just don't know what is too much this one currently runs 2 ecoplus 1056 which is 1083 gallons per hour I was just thinking about upgrading to the next model up of Echo Plus pumps they are a little over 1300 GPH

Try one at a time. As long as you aren't pumping too many bubbles out of it and it doesn't overflow its a good chance it will skim better.
