Will vendors be willing to hold purchases until the end of the show? I'd like to come for the whole day, but I don't want to miss out on something great. I don't really want to pull the cooler all day.

Curlsoc,
what I have done for past swaps, is to remove sold corals from my display tank, and place in a container with the purchaser's name and then place in a cooler for later pickup.
It is entirely the purchaser's responsibilty to remember to pick up.
I have had a few forget entirely, and others forget until a few days later and then schedule pick up from my home.

Other vendor policies may vary.

maybe negotiate to park your cooler somewhere where it will be safe?

I do the same thing as Sharkdude! Although I have never had anyone forget their corals.

I'll have room behind my booth for any coolers that need to be held...........................

Make sure you forget your pink lemonade or purple monster though!!! ;)

Quick question....is there a loading/unloading area or do you have to park the car and make a couple trips?

Also, do vendors have to park in a certain area?

One more thing....what time is water showing up? I think I remember somewhere that Kevin will be there at 4am and vendors can get there at 9am...can someone confirm this???

Sorry for all the questions.

Ciao,
Jen=)

Hi Jen,
Andy from "Ocean in Motion" is very generously donating over 3,000 gallons of Scripps water for use by our vendors. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Andy is ex-military if you know what I mean....the man would be there at 0300 (umm, that's 3AM to you and me) if he had his way about it!:p

Pipe-and-drape guys will be there at 4AM sharp (as will I :( ) to set up walls, tables, tablecloths, chairs, etc.

Booth vendors can start setting up as early as 7AM. That gives you four full hours to set up before the doors open for business.

So guaranteed Andy will be there probably around 6AM waiting for alls-of-you to wolf down your egg McMuffins, slurp down your 7-11 coffees, and get ready for some water park action. Go Andy! :fish1:

No special parking is necessary. There is a large 12'x12' rollup door at the rear of the building (parking lot side) where everyone can enter to setup. I highly recommend bringing a cart of some sort as OCFEC has none.

sweet....you have answered my questions.=)

...and just to let you know 4am is freakin early. No coffee, no egg mc whatever could wake me up at that time. I will sleep extra hard for you.:p

You know, if I wasn't finally starting to get a clue on the names of corals, that would have sounded so odd :) After Googling these two, I think they are a wee bit beyond my budget and level of care... Just a wee bit....

Thanks, might take you up on that, I'll be the one with the belly that get's there before the rest of me :)

Don't worry...................one day you'll want the "colored sticks" in your tanks just like the rest of us.............. ;)

And to think I used to say "What do all you guys see in SPS?"......

when I first started doing this ( reefing ) I just bought whatever I thought was attractive.
The names these days are just funny..
I always hated the color change from the guys who use 400 watters to my 250's...
if you buy a coral that was grown under 400 watters... expect a color drop or change.

I think I might have some extra room at my spot at reefa palooza, so anyone want to share with me?

I have a tier 2 booth. 5x10

In a really good spot.

$65

I am planning to go with a friend fron Texas, I know it is hard to give up secrets, but what spots do we hit up first when it opens? I am into corals, my friend is into agressive fish.

I don't know either. All I know is that I'm getting corals first, then equipment. I just hope I have leftover money at all for bulbs, lol.

Is cash the preferred method of payment, and will vendors be accepting cards? Don't know if that was asked before.

To be honest, there usually isn't much fish available at RAP, at least not in the past. The only thing I could remember was someone bring some captive bred clowns. The event is more geared towards corals. Although this year's event seems so unlike anything in the past that some of the bigger vendors represented my bring some fish.

Cash is always King but many of the venders are set up to accept credit cards.
