Reef Aquarium 1350 gallons in Bucharest

Maybe you answered this already, but what exactly is the "cement" made up of? Also what are the panels made of that you are cementing too? I would love to use the type of aquascaping.

Hey guys... Anyone else wants to join a group discount ... We are putting together a diving team to go explore this tank ;) I'm kidding... But darn it Andy .... I log on everyday and look for this post every week... And nothing... Nothing... U keep us in suspense... Just watch. The next time he posts. He will have 40 fish in there with corals and everything we can think of.;) I would do the same. After u get 2000 members interested... I make them wait. Then BAAANG!!!! FINISHED DISPLAY .

Hi Andy - I've been jumping on (unseen) watching for progress along with all the others who are waiting for an update on all the work you've put into your build. Has something gone wrong? You haven't posted since February - I hope all is well with you. Will be waiting for progress report along with everyone else. I wish you the very best!!!

I spoke to Andy last week. He was traveling for the past month and visited a lot of aquariums and suppliers. Apparently he has all of the equipment now and just needs to iron out some details with the Tunze pumps. He just ordered a GHL Prifilux controller so that will keep him busy for a while.

Don't worry, he didn't mention any floods or major setbacks:)

Relief

Relief

So Glad to hear you spoke to Andy Mr. Wilson! What a relief to hear he was traveling and nothing is wrong. I was hoping that was the case. Since you mentioned that you just acquired the controller - I'm interested in the controller. I'm rather a newbie to SWR. I've had my tank a year and a half - enjoy it immensely - small in comparison to you all! 75 gal w 20 gal sump. Soft & LPS corals and common fish for beginners. We vacation for the summer and I'm afraid to move the tank for 4 months of the year so I'm looking at controllers because I want to be updated by my smart phone if there is distress and be able to set up a web cam to watch. (that's easy enough). What do you consider to be the most important parameters to monitor - and which probes type and manufacturer) would you recommend. Or controller for that matter. I will probably never move to a larger tank - I live vicariously through you guys! Thanks for an answer - and Andy - It has been so inspiring to follow your thread and progress!! God bless you..RJ

Andy is very impulsive. He decided to come to MACNA last year the day before the show when he found out about it. It was great meeting him there and since we have kept in contact. I picked up the phone a few weeks back and it was Andy calling from Romania, so you never know when he will pop back in the thread. I keep my fridge and bar full just in case I get the knock on the door:beer: I know these threads are hard to get back into the swing of after you have drifted off busy with other projects and even the tank itself. I'm sure he will be knocking at the door here again soon and my glass is lifted for him.

My take on controllers is this...

Small demand like orp, temp, lighting timers & ph = Reef Keeper ($400)
Medium demand like orp, DO, temp, PH, salinity, timers = Neptune Apex ($900)
High demand with the above plus dosing, led control, powerhead control, and programmable logic = Profilux ($2100+)

The Profilux I used on Nineball's 1350 was $5,000.00 and I don't control the chiller, heaters, pumps, or lighting. I also don't have a dosing pump system. Andy mentioned that his Profilux is similar and cost and features to the one I did for Nineball.

I think majority of the reefers are impulsive since this is the worst hobby to have
but some have more money than others to follow what he wants.

regarding controller
APEX is capable to do pretty much everything for less than 600 includes temp, orp, do, multiple ph but also it depends how many eb 8 do you need.

It's just doesn't have a doser like profilux.

I'm hoping that the upcoming Apex Jr will fit nicely in the Small demand area and come out lower cost. I like the built in network of the Apex Jr, so I can control and see everything from my iPhone, and it takes up less space as a single unit for Nano Aquariums.

"Back to the future"

"Back to the future"

Sorry guys for missing the party. I was away a lot in the last few months and also had a lot of work. Not much has happened with the tank eather.

In the next few days I will try to bring everything up to date.

Thank you for understanding my friends!

Andy

P.S All the equipment is finally in.

this is a beautifull build going on it go's to show when you take your time grate things can be done !
but i do need to say something here .
this is for some of the people that are just going into this hobby .
its up to us all to keep this hobby alive and keep are open reefs open by doing captive breeding of are fish and are coral !
in doing are builds it does not matter if it is a 2.5 build or a 1300 g build like this one
if we take are time in doing are set up's we can do grate things with what we have to work with and that is what makes the difrence in all that we do !

andy grate job love the work you have done keep it up !
