Maybe you answered this already, but what exactly is the "cement" made up of? Also what are the panels made of that you are cementing too? I would love to use the type of aquascaping.
So Glad to hear you spoke to Andy Mr. Wilson! What a relief to hear he was traveling and nothing is wrong. I was hoping that was the case. Since you mentioned that you just acquired the controller - I'm interested in the controller. I'm rather a newbie to SWR. I've had my tank a year and a half - enjoy it immensely - small in comparison to you all! 75 gal w 20 gal sump. Soft & LPS corals and common fish for beginners. We vacation for the summer and I'm afraid to move the tank for 4 months of the year so I'm looking at controllers because I want to be updated by my smart phone if there is distress and be able to set up a web cam to watch. (that's easy enough). What do you consider to be the most important parameters to monitor - and which probes type and manufacturer) would you recommend. Or controller for that matter. I will probably never move to a larger tank - I live vicariously through you guys! Thanks for an answer - and Andy - It has been so inspiring to follow your thread and progress!! God bless you..RJ
Andy is very impulsive. He decided to come to MACNA last year the day before the show when he found out about it. It was great meeting him there and since we have kept in contact. I picked up the phone a few weeks back and it was Andy calling from Romania, so you never know when he will pop back in the thread. I keep my fridge and bar full just in case I get the knock on the door:beer: I know these threads are hard to get back into the swing of after you have drifted off busy with other projects and even the tank itself. I'm sure he will be knocking at the door here again soon and my glass is lifted for him.
My take on controllers is this...
Small demand like orp, temp, lighting timers & ph = Reef Keeper ($400)
Medium demand like orp, DO, temp, PH, salinity, timers = Neptune Apex ($900)
High demand with the above plus dosing, led control, powerhead control, and programmable logic = Profilux ($2100+)
The Profilux I used on Nineball's 1350 was $5,000.00 and I don't control the chiller, heaters, pumps, or lighting. I also don't have a dosing pump system. Andy mentioned that his Profilux is similar and cost and features to the one I did for Nineball.
