Reef Breeders group buy?

Ok, so with muffnman and stiltman in, that leaves us with 8 needed.. I've sent a few pm's to try and help bring the number down.

We need 8 more fixtures

Sent you a pm back but just so its on here too, i will be taking 1 photon 24. Which brings it down to 7.

Actually for those who have the units, is the controller worth it? I was stuck between 2 of the value ones or 1 photon24. Any opinions. Its a 48in 72g bowfront

The controller is the primary reason I'm ordering mine.. I have leds already but they aren't dimmable.. Worth it to me.

Really interested... looking to do an SPS dominated tank, my 29 gallon biocube. I'll need to replace the stock CF lighting. Would the Photon16 do the trick? Tank is 21" across and 21" wide, and I think 19" deep. Maybe the 120 degree would work? Suggestions?

absolutely, it would do the trick and then some...

What is the major diff with the optics??

Changing the optics will allow the usable light to penetrate deeper into your tank. Without optics the spread of the light is almost 180°the and will look great but because the light is spread far out that the usable light won't penetrate deep into the water and won't be able to support a lot of coral life unless they are very low light corals. If your tank is very shallow you won't need optics but if your tank is more than about a foot deep you will need to use optics to help the light penetrate deeper into the tank, assuming you have corals anyway if its a fowlr tank than it don't matter. The smaller the number optics you use the tighter the beam of light and the deeper the usable light will penetrate. But the tighter the optics the less spread the light will have because it focusses the light more in a line straight down. For the reefbreeders lights I usually recommend the 90° optics because the light still has pretty good spread but also has great par. Hope this helps at all

IMO, you probably need 2 photon 24s...the p24 has the same #of LEDs as 1 value fixture, the difference is the controller and LED spacing.

I will commit to a 24" I would like a projected date tho :o) and can they make it so we can order directly and give a code or something to indicate the CTAR group buy ? And thanks for coming up with the idea this is a great deal :o)

I'm still working on getting more details... They seem to respond to all emails once a day or so.. Through reef central anyway...

He said they can create individual invoices for each h order through paypal so it's not one person collecting money.. I hope maybe we can put this together by mid - end of next week.?.?
