Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

@southstar, we do have the 15" blue in stock right now. I would recommend ordering right away if wanted, as they go fast, however we do have more on the way.

@maddog, these are 3w Cree LED's being driven around 1.5 - 1.6w total.

@bhelne01, I think that 4 modules would replace 6 x 54w T5 tubes. In the next few weeks I'm finally getting my hands on the brackets for the ReefBrite's, and will be putting 2 x blue modules and 2 x blue/whtie modules over a system that is 30" front to back. We'll see how it goes!

I am looking to use the reef brite as supplemental lighting to my t5s, so I guess my question is what would you recommend as a supplemental lighting (leds)

When you say supplemental, are you just looking for more blue in addition to what you're running with the T5's, or are you trying to get a shimmer affect with your T5 setup?

Hi I was looking for some information on the Reef Brite Mini Mags. I see there about 3" x 2" and 2 would fit in the opening of my Bio Cube if I remove the front lid.My question is what kind of mounting do these have if any? I would need some kind of bracket to mount to the sides as seen in this pic. Looking to add some blue.

Thanks Rick

I am looking for both. I am looking to improve the colors of my coral, growth and shimmer affect

@reefrick, the mini mag's come with the same "L" bracket as what the larger ones come with. You shoudl have room in your top to make them work just fine for you.

@bhelne, you could try an all blue for that situation. You will get the shimmer with it, plus amazing coloration with the RB all blue module.

I am building a 300DD tank, 72" wide. I was planning 3 400w MH supplementing with two VHO 60" or 72" true blue (bluest available) and two t5 figi purple (largest available). Will these give any purple coloring to the set up? What would you recommend for this set up? Two 48" mounted high or would one be enough.

I would use a couple of 72" VHO super actinic (the old "03" 420nm lamp) along with a strip or two of ReefBrite's to go with it. The Super Actinics will provide awesome pop to the corals, and then the RB's will come in and do the same, but only with different affects to different colored corals, you will have the best of both worlds in my opinion.

Can the new Apex dim the Reef Brite LED strips? The Apex states it has moonlight control and these state that they are dimmable.

Out of the box, it will not. However, if you're pretty techy you might be able to figure out how to do it through the RB power supply.

yea thats what i meant, 3w each. Is it a precautionary measure or are there actual tests which conclude that they would over heat if driven at full potential?

They will not overheat if driven to a full 3w as long as they are on an appropriate heat sink and cooled correctly. Believe it or not, the backside of a 3w LED gets extremely HOT!
