Any electrical guys think you could make these 1-10v? If so I will pay you a small fee to do it to mine.

I would be interested in this as well, however running at 10v won't even light the LED's with these, it would most likely need a custom transformer.

Could I see a picture of the led-side of the 36" model? I am concerned about where the lights are positioned in relation to my braces (7' tank) as it seems uneven. Also, what is the cord length from the leds to the driver?

Is it possible to rewire the cord without voiding warranty or special order them longer? 3' is woefully insufficient for a big tank.

Sorry, I had a slight brain fart. The power supply has 4' feet of cord coming off as well, so it's a total of 7' from the module, tot he power supply itself.

That is better, but is still not enough for me. I need 8.5' just to touch the ground, and even more to put it in an appropriate spot in the cabinet. Any way to extend it easily?

I don't know of a way to extend it at this time. You might speak with ReefBrite directly to see what they say, as a diy extension would most likely void the warranty.

I can't explain the gap, it's just how they were designed.

From joy @ reefbrite:

I just talked with the office and we will have an extension available it will either be 6' or 8' long. I will get back to you with the pricing of it.

She didn't get me the pricing or confirmation of 6'/8', but instead sent this:

Who ever you [buy] from please tell them to contact me about the extensions.

Ball's in your court, Jeremy. I am prepared to purchase 2 of these (both 36" actinic) with the extensions (8' preferred, but 6' ok) as long as the price for the extensions isn't crazy.

Hi Jeremy, would you be able to find out when these brackets will be available?

*seems like i cant link the site.. i will PM you.*

there was some prototype pics of an arced bracket that will hold 5 strips on another site.

discocarp, the extensions are going to sell for $15/ea. I believe the length is going to be 6'.

mephy, those brackets are prototypes, not production units. There is no eta on the brackets at this time, let alone a final design yet.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy. $15 sounds fine. Should I just specify that I want 2 extensions in comments when I place an order? Also, is there any difference between the 2 36" blue fixtures on the webpage, or is it just double listed? Expect an order this weekend, once I do a quick inventory and see if I need anything else.

I appreciate the quick response from both you (as always) and reef brite on this.

Can you tell us how that worked out. I have a 24x24x24" 60 cube. Lighting it with a Acan Lighting A101 LED. Not overly strong. I purchased two blue/whites-50/50 to add to the front and back for more coverage and light. If I were to sell the fixture what would you recommend for two additional strips to give me a nice 15k look. Send pics of the tank with a 2 blue/whites and 2 blues. IMO, it might be too blue and need one all white. Your pics and opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Bobby

@discocap, they are the same ones, just got double listed when we transferred to the new site. Putting the order for the extensions in the notes section is just fine, we'll get them added on for you.

@Bobby, I have not received any brackets yet. The prototype was just seen at MAX about a week ago. As soon as they're here I will have a "fixture" of these set up and running.

Got my blue strip. Very awesome. Adds some very nice color as supplement to the halides. However, with T5's I'd do a dusk to dawn - turn on the T5's, then turn on the halides. The tank had good color - obviously, with just the Blues it's got a very funky color. I need to order a second bar - should I get a white blue combo, or a white only strip to add to the blue strip to make the tank have a normal, pleasing color before the halides turn on, and after they turn off? I'm thinking white only, as the blues are VERY blue. I don't want it to be washed out and adding more blues + white in addition to my current blue bar may defeat my purpose.

can someone post a pic of a tank wit just the 50/50's on? Im trying to decide on either the blue or the 50/50. Also do you think a 48" would cover a 60" tank well?
