Reef Cleaner Packages

Hey Everyone,

Just curious if anyone has any experience with some of the "reef cleaner" or "algae eater" packages offered on websites like liveaquaria.com. I'm looking to beef up my cleaning crew and am just looking for something to fit a 65 gallon tank rather reasonably.

any suggestions? Thanks everyone

In my opinion they often give you far too many of certain animals like hermit crabs. They also tend to include animals like emerald crabs which become dangerous with age and lettuce sea slugs that are really hard to maintain. Some of the deals are good but often you're better off just going to your LFS and getting only what you need.

I have used reefcleaners.org and you can customize your package however you would like. They ship very fast and always provide more than what you ordered. They are generally responsive to emails but they can get back to you at weird hours as they are divers. They also have more availability/in stock than the lfs.

I did a couple group buys from keyscritters in the past. Those worked out well for a large quantity of snails and hermits that was divided up across a number of people. A lot of it also depends on the quantity you are looking for and the diversity.

Reefcleaners.org is where i usually get mine. Like everyone said they do good buisness. They generally over ship stuff so that it makes up for die off if any. I also recomend reefs2go.com as well.

excellent everyone. I really appreciate the responses! looks like reefcleaners is the way to go. I looked at saltwaterfish.com and checked some of theirs and the only benefit it offered were some peppermint shrimp that i kind of wanted to add. But it seemed like they were over shipping a ton of small snails for what i needed. no point in letting half the population starve for 2 shrimps :).

Thanks again!
