thanks for the kind words..the anglers are strangely attractive and definitely interesting to paint

and no I have not painted a mandarin yet..but it is on the list

Its been a while. Summer has been busy. I finally got something new done..

That is incredible. You have a very unique talent. I went through the whole thread and I have to say, the detail you accomplish with water colors is truly amazing. I would love to have a collection of these on my wall next to my tank :)

Thanks guys.. I feel like they are getting better as I do more of them too. I am going to try and start something new tomorrow

So lI started a new job-teaching art at 3 elementary schools-see about 900 kids every 6 days..we have been in three weeks now and this was the first week that i felt I got out ahead of things a bit. With a bit of luck and a few more weeks I will have things more in hand and I can get back to painting on a more regular basis..and get my tank set back up
meanwhile enjoy...

Very nice, Nate! Don't let all those kids make you crazy...LOL

BTW, how did your show go? Did you shoot some photos?

The show went well. I sold enough prints and cards to pay for the framing and printing so I guess that is something.. and I wasnt related to everyone at the opening so that was a plus also..haha.
I did take some photos but I have not uploaded anything from the summer to my hard drives yet. I am in the middle of doing that tonight so hopefully I can post at least one photo of it shortly..first I have to find them. Just been crazy busy.

its a gallery for a local arts council..a nice space but a lot of windows so the reflections are pretty evident..

Heres a plectranthias...
I did some studies before the final painting. Sometimes they help to understand the patterns on the fish ...
