reef keeper question

They call me EC
What reef keeper would I need to control two dosing pumps and two lights?
The reef keeper light comes with four outlets, but can the unit control all four through timers?

Thanks in advance
EC

Some pumps won't turn off on the RK outlets #2 and 3, so you have to use the clicking relay ports 1 and 4.

I actually love my reef keeper lite. Just make sure like outlets #2 and #3 have higher draw devices (such as lights or return pumps) low draw devices will not shut off on # 2 and # 3 (like dosing pumps) you can always add another PC4 and get 4 more outlets also

I traded my Apex for a RKL, And Ive never looked back.

If your into neurophysics, Buy the Apex, The code is just plan retarted.

I run 2 PC4s off my RKL, And my SYStem is 95% auto... Water changes require me to plug in a pump, so thats the 5% .

What do you run with your rkl? I'm trying to decide if the rkl will be enough or if I should go with the RKE

95% of what anyone needs to control is simple slectable menu. All you have to do for temp, lighting, pumps, etc is simply select times and temperatures. I have yet to use any programming on the Apex that I would consider challenging, but maybe for some it is.

Anyone looking at the Apex should check out the now official guide, it explains everything. I have only used it for about 3 things, mostly with LEDs and profiles for it. It would not be the most popular controller if it was half as difficult to program as some make it out to be.

This is also true on Apex controllers, it has to do with the type of outlet. Triacs are used on 2 and 3 on the RKE PC4, and on 6 of the Neptune EB8. They can turn on and off anything, just not always reliably. The Apex eb4( same with ApexJr) hads 4 relay outlets that will switch anything on or off.

I really think it comes down to individuals and how they understand things. I actually do talks on using controllers and I bought an Apex for demos during my talk. I spent over an hour trying to get a channel set up to turn on. To be fair, I wasn't looking at a manual and I wasn't doing it via software. I was just using the head unit. I'm sure that with a little more time it would click in my head and all would make sense.

The only real issue that you need to figure out is how many devices do you need to control. The RKL is limited to 4 modules. That can fill up very fast depending on what you are doing. If you buy the RKL and then take advantage of the exchange program to upgrade your head unit, the overall cost is very similar. All of the modules available will work on both head units.

To answer the OP question, yes, the RKL can do what you're looking for it to do.
I'd put the dosers on outlets 1 and 4 and the lights on 2 and 3
