Reef Miser RODI from Filter Guys

Anyone out there use this system? I talked to the Filter Guys today and this system wastes only 1/4 gallon water per each gallon made. This is so much better than wasting 4 gallons to make 1. The catch is, you need to have at least 65lbs of water pressure to run it, or buy a booster pump at a pretty good price. I'm trying to find a way to check my water pressure first, but I would to hear if anyone runs this system and could give me their opinion on it.

I have the Ocean Reef RO/DI from filterguys and love it. You can pick up a pressure reader that connects to your sink from any plumbing department in a lager hardware store, if that fails call a plumbing outfit in your area

I have the reef miser with the dual di and it is awesome. I only have 40psi going through it, and it is still great. you won't be disappointed.

The drawback to any membrane system that uses less then 3 or 4:1 waste ratio is shortened membrane life, it does not matter whose unit it is they all need flushing to keep the membrane clean. If increased replacement frequency is not an issue then go for it, its conservatiion.

Thanks for the input - I would really like to not waste so much. It's really going to add up - especially with the initial setup. I appreciate the posts. . .

If you can wait 6 weeks or so Spectrapure has a brand new RO/DI unit coming out that will set the industry on its ear. I visited their facility and laid eyes on it in operation today and let me tell you there is nothing like it. I thought my 6 mo old MaxCap system was the cats meow but this new one is even better. Try 200 GPD out of a single membrane at 99% rejection rate and 1:1 waste ratio and automatic flushing plus several other goodies!
I was blown away, like a kid in a candy store and then some.

I got an Ocean Reef 4 and it's the bomb. I love the filter guys and would recommend them to anyone.

AZDesertRat- I bet there is quite a price tag attached to that Spectrapure. If not, it makes me wonder.

I'm sure it won't be cheap but its built like a tank and microprocerssor controlled and monitored. I have never seen anything like it before. The Ocean Reef is a good unit that I do recommend but its not in the same league as this thing. Heck even my new MaxCap isn't in the same league anymore!
