Hi there guys,

I'm new to this marine tank. I have a 4ft tank. Bought a calcium reactor above. Have a bottle of co2 with regulator and solenoid. To be honest not very sure how to setup it up, and looking at the website it says I need a ph controller. Is it compulsory?

It is not mandatory if you know what you are doing but it is a good idea, consider it a safety feature and fine tuning tool.

I like to use pH controllers on my calcium reactors. I have a Geo and MTC, and like said above it's not mandatory, but I like knowing my pH inside the reactor and if it ever did drop too low for any reason it will shut down any additional CO2 from being added. Granted, it really doesn't do you any good if you don't keep the electrode calibrated.
