yes. i sent them pictures, then they needed more, so i sent more, then they needed more, so i sent more. then the president from vue said the only way is if it was dropped, and he can't do anything about it. The funny thing is that if i dropped it there are two points on the skimmer that protrude further out than where the fracture is.
here is part of the email i sent in responce to him saying i dropped it
Dropping the skimmer would not cause the cracks in that area of the skimmer body as depicted by the pictures I sent you. It would not even be possible for the area in which the cracking has occurred to touch the ground due to the other components of the skimmer body extending beyond the outer limits of the area in question. The top of the tapered cone in which the plexiglass is cracking has a black ring that protrudes beyond the outer edge of the plexiglass cone; therefore, if the unit was dropped it would hit the black ring first. The cylindrical body of the skimmer is the second point of impact that would hit and there is no evidence of this or any other area of the skimmer being damaged.
If the skimmer was dropped wouldn't there be marks along these two points?
If it was dropped and hard enough to cause the plexiglass to flex and cause the so called "stress fractures" according to Mr. D'Aquin, it would certainly be enough to leave a mark along the areas on the skimmer I noted above.
Please take the time yourself to lay one of these skimmers down on its side and you will see that the area of the crack is a full 1.5 inches from coming in contact with the ground.
I am merely trying to get this issue resolved. If I did caused this damage I would most certainly have taken full responsibility and bought the needed parts to repair the skimmer. I am not trying to mislead you or Mr. D'Aquin in order to get a new skimmer at your expense.
