Reef Savvy Red Edition

No place in that sump for detritus traps, ie floss. I see space for socks, but trust me, youll get tired of swapping those out. Keep it simple.

Did Reef Savvy build your stand and light rack as well? Did they also build the Apex mounting wall?

Thanks

Yes, they did built the stand. The rails are stand mounting rails from AI for their Hydra and Sol lights. The mounting wall I built myself.

I have about 3 pairs. Once they get dirty i just pull them out. Once I get down to last pair is when I soak the rest of them in time to change it out.

Thanks for the input.

The spread on the AI's is not really 36" even when put 13" above the tank. I originally mounted 3 perpendicular to my 180 and it did not work.

You could mount them parallel to the tank. Better coverage. Here's mine.

Wow. best cable management Ive ever seen. Great job. Beautiful work. Congrats!

PS - (isn't awesome how clean new sumps look? lol)

How do the wet dry vac hold up to salt water? I notice a lot of junk accumtlates at the bottom of the sump. Love the idea of a wet/dry to vacuum it out every once in a while. Also thinking of putting a power head down there but don't know how big. You guys think a koralia nano 425 is big enough?

The wet dry idea is ok for a very small sump but anything bigger than a few gal fills so quickly to me its just better to use a siphon and hose ......my 20gal wet dry fills in less than a min and I'm going back and forth dumping it that it takes me 10 times longer to do any water change and cleanup....I like to just drain the sump then use the wet dry .....goes so much faster and gets more up...I can do a 150 gal change and vacuum in about 15 min tops

Yeah, my sump is too big to drain and kinda hard to access. How would you even siphon it's on the ground? I always thought of running a pump inline with the hose. I wonder if that would work?
