Reef Wannabe - an aquarium that one day thought to be a reef

Thanks Myka,

It´s going well, did a couple of 50 gallon water change and now I´m sticking for daily 4 gallon water change.

Thing´s looking good, keeping you guys posted.

Very nice!!! That's allot of light you have, how high are the bulbs hanging off the water line?

Whiskey

They're as close to the water as they can be. I like the light mix better when they are higher, they mix better, but I want the sps to take full profit of lught quality and intensity. ;)

Here's a late night photo to help me explaning

Hello guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

Sorry, no purple as stated before (at the moment).

Thank you guys for all your compliments, it gives me motivation to take even better care of my tank and sea friends.

I used to use fauna marin products as balling but now I only use the powder from the lfs that get it from a pharmaceutical company. I do use from time to time their micros (fauna's) - not much at the moment because I water change with natural sea water.

I've been dealing with high salinity (1,032) due to lack of periodical checking.

My parameters were all out of order, got a little disconnected with maintenance. Work, family and friends took all my available time but now it's coming back with some good routines.

Keep you guys posted as I go. Meanwhile I'm checking you guy's tanks, great inspirational tips and a way to share a lot of experiences.

Take fun and have care ;)

That's a lot of blue... but I like it.

May you share your sump someday, please.

Very nice! For filtration you only use skimmer and liverock and sometimes use Prodibio?

What do you feed the fish and corals? - Thanks.

Cheers Sahin,

I only use, for filtration, skimmer, live rock and ozone generator (certizon 25). From time to time, not often, I'll had some biodigest and bioptim.

I feed algae sheets, red rotifers and ocean nutrition veggie granulate. Corals eat fish waste and film (a lot) from the glasses when I clean it with magfloat and easy blade. The water turns green for a while. I clean the glasses sometimes everyday and sometimes twice a day.

MARAVILHA!!!! amazing!!!!

Obrigado, thanks! Just did a copy from another post and it came out in portuguese. I do apologize for the other members but its nothing big nor long.

A beautiful tank and your corals look amazing! I love the combination of sps, lps with the softies.

Thank you rt67ghy, its hard to get the proper water parameters for all of them but I try to focus on the sps but try not to keep such a po4 and no4 sterile envoirement.
I do like the combinarion as well but I think it can get better ( and will hopefully).

Beautiful!

Cheers fedro!

Reef Wannabe - an aquarium that one day thought to be a reef

Hello everyone,

The tank suffered from rtn and stn for the last two months. Been able to save almost all the colonies but unfortunally lost 5 of them. At least not all of them.

This was due to kH variations that lead to readings of 2 degrees at some point.

I redid the layout and opened more swiming space in rhe middle.

Hope you enjoy it

Let me know what you think,

Thank you for watching
