pardon me while I wipe up the drool :-) Amazing work Robbie... My 150 will eventually be a Gig lagoon. Two down.

You got a pair of Snowflakes on one anemone and a single Pinkskunk on the other anemone in the 150. (Or is it a pair of Pinkskunk?)
Did the anemone hosted the fish before you put the combination in the tank?

Would love to hear more about your setup - particularly your lighting. Looks really nice! How do you like your wave-makers?

thank you for the compliments everyone :)

yes there are two sets of clowns in there....the picassos stay in their blue s. gig and the skunks stay in their purple s. gig...been that way for awhile now they dont really ever bother eachother...

for params they are pretty basic...the usual standard params...
honestly i havent checked em in awhile we just keep up on our water changes and run gfo/carbon.. we dont reallly try to chase numbers...just go off of how the corals look...
sg - 1.026
temp - 81
ph -7.9
phos - 0.4
thats the basics for the tank

for the lighting the leds are pretty new tank started on 3w dimmable cree less then switched to 400wmh then about a month ago went back to leds... we got these new leds off ebay..i can provide more details when i get home and not on my phone

Do you lights ramp up and ramp down? Do you notice your Gigs react when it starts to ramp down and they ramp down in size with the LEDs? I have noticed that with my purple gig and the radions... When the sunset starts to come (I use a natural template for a reef in Malaysia) the gigs start to get progressively smaller and get relatively nimble in size overnight... When the first crack of morning comes it gets large again right away...

I'm thinking these natural profiles and LEDs with controllable intensities will change the way the act a little as opposed to just a big MH turning on and off. What have you seen?

I agree 100% to the led lighting
with pacific suns on bali program nems dont like all the changes poss stress
I run a 2 hour ramp up and down seems less stressful
Almost seems better with just on and off like metal halides

the Lights just turn on and off, th current setup i have is not dimmable at all... but witht he amount i have, i have them setup on timer's, so 1 turns on then 30-40 minutes later the next..and so forth.. same thing for night time as well..

you can read more about my LeD's here, they are no high fashioned Radion's or AI's and i was definantly skeptical but 2 400W metal halides was putting a damper on my electric bill... so thats why we switched to these.. and they seem to definantly be doing the trick.. which honestly, shocked me.

Agreed, LEDs have done the trick for me.. What I'm wondering is how closely these "natural" templates are, the color temperature, and the ramp up\down... Do we know how gigs react in nature when night time comes?

well knowing Ecotech, im sure they did alot of research into the templates they provided.. im sure they are close, but probably not dead on with the Wild.. and in the wild im pretty sure the anemone's act just as they do in our tanks, open up at day, and shrink during the night..

and the color temperature in the wild is more towards a 10k i beleive? (direct sunlight) thats why most corals you see in wild are brown with little color.. us as hobbyist use the blue's to bring out the color in our tank's..

the anemone's i dont have pictured, are under 10k, much more brown, with only purple tips.. (similiar to Minh's) if i were to change my lights in my 150g to 10k look, the blue anemone would get much more brown in the tantacles with the Tips just being blue .... thats just from my experience, anyone else is free to chime into that..

Not sure if i answered your question right tom haha but i gave it a shot :P :lmao:

Here are my other 2 S. Gigantea's i did not picture before, these are under a 10k Lighting.. (More brown like i said)

Yes.... that is a small tiny S. Gigantea on the left..

Any problems with these nems moving? I can't remember how well these nems stay put...

Gorgeous specimens you have though!

It use to be this Bleached one

When i put it with my other giant purple one those, it dramatically shrunk in size..

with that being said, ive noticed with certain S. Gig's being Paired up.. sometimes ... Not all the time, but one will definantly take a bigger dominance stance, and the other one will shrink..

like right now, that green one i introduced to my purple one, the purple one is taking on a smaller stance, but the green one shows to be more dominant, and bigger.. is it chemical warfare? idk... is it a sexual trait? not sure.. its just something i have noticed with the S. Gig's ive delt with..

Look how big my purple one use to be..

not scroll up to the green/purple pic, notice the dramatic size decrease?
