ReeFlo Dart

I just bought this ReeFlo Dart for my 180g and I need to drill a hole in my sump but should I screw the pump down to something, or would it be ok on tile if I leave on the sticky foam stuff that comes stuck to the bottom of the pump?

Also, I see a lot of people use an elbow at the end of the inlet on the inside of the sump to pull water from the lowest point. The direction that came with the pump say not to do that, is one elbow really going to ruin the pump or something?

i perfer to let my dart sit loose. it is on a couple pieces of cork to help dampen vibration. I also have short pieces of clear vinyl tubing between it and the rigid pvc. It is dead silent that way.

As far as the elbow....I use a 45 elbow, and have for years without problem. It gives me a little more leeway on topping off the sump. (no ATO) If you have a ATO you should not need it
