I'm pulling about 135w average @ sealevel +/- 25 feet.
@ Pump turned off, the water level is right in-between the top of the body cone, and the bottom of the lower black flange.

negative. With the pipe all the way open, my water level is near the bottom of the cone.

Any thoughts on how a Enkamat mesh mod on the stock needle wheel would compare with the upgraded needle wheel? The cost would be much less.

Maintenance much higher & you'd have to destroy your stock NW + properly balance it ... I wouldn't do it personally.

Not sure yet. I just adjusted it about 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour ago. I will report back later this afternoon. Heading out to locate a trailer for tomorrows meet up with GC.

I have tried a number of different mesh wheels and layers of mesh out and none of them gave me a steady or as high of an air pull as the Upgrade NW. Reef Specialty and Orca canned the idea due to the performance and balance issues these were having with the mesh. They also considered the average hobbiest would not want to remove the pump every couple of months to redo the wheel. Did the mesh work better than the stock NW, yes but unreliable as the mesh deteriorated/stretched faster on the dart pump.
IMO the wheels are worth every penny as they are a very well crafted add on item and I'm sure not cheep to produce.

As I was walking out the house, the Brown stopped by.
Airmeter is reading 100-110 SCFH, but head collapses, and power draw jumps by about 20w ... I've got a 90* elbow adapter on the airmeter ... i'll try to stop by lowes & pickup a straight adapter.
What size is the threaded hole on the airmeter/venturi?

I can't remember if it is 1/4 or 3/8 pipe thread.

Mine is 3/8th.
I agree on the mesh vs new wheel option. There is a huge air increase for a slight amount of money. Not having to drain the skimmer, replace and/or realign mesh, not cutting the life of the motor due to higher wattage and/or improperly balanced mesh... Many reasons why the new needwheel makes much more sense to me. Not to mention the time saved as it's pretty much a drop in and done.

when you put the air meter on, did your wattage jump up? If not, how did you plug the silicone hose to the airmeter?

These Dwyer meters really do restrict the air pull as you can tell by the increase in wattage.

Came home today and my wife states that the skimmer is been really loud all day. So I run down expecting the worst
. Well the sound she was talking about was the air pull, funny thing was is I have it connected to the air silencer. So I tested the air pull....80scfh and 120 watts.:smokin: It sounds like a super high pitch howl and suction like a hoover. Sadly I think the pump is pushing too much air into the skimmer body at a given time. I have my valves completely open and am feeding about 200gph as compared to my estimated 350 I was pushing in it previously. This is by no means what every reeflo 200 user will get by buying a pro kit as I have been modifying the venturi but I should be getting a stock venturi for testing in the next week or so. Untill then I am going to keep playing.
