ReefLux 20K Halide Lamps

Thanks for the opportunity to test the bulb. I don't have photos to post, largely because I don't think it is worth it.
Let's put it this way: the bulb is terrific no doubt. So is the 12K which I have been using for a couple of years now on PFO HQI ballasts. I run 250 watt SE bulbs.
The over-driven 12K is about the whitest bulb I have ever seen. If you like any blue at all, you need actinic supplement. I use 2xVHO Super Actinics.
With the actinics off, I had my old 12K bulb badly in need of replacement in one socket, and the burned-in for 2 weeks 20K in the other. If there is any difference between them at all, it is so slight as to not be noticeable unless you really look hard.
Thus, no photos. A lens will distort to the point that it would deny any value. You really have to see for yourself what I am saying. The 20K on HQI burns extremely white.
So, unless the price is the same, I see no value to going with this bulb if using HQI ballasts. Note: I am only referring to this bulb/ballast combination.
If the price is the same, I will go with the 20K for the minimal increment of blue, which may just be psychological because I know which bulb is where.
